VERSION 0.3.0: Auto quality is available on both devices. Install the matching phone update and choose Auto in Video quality. Existing pairings remain.

KOSMO REMOTE 0.2.1 — READABILITY, QR SCANNING AND FIRST-USE GUIDE UPDATE

You can download now and set up later when you are at the laptop.
Update BOTH apps. Install Android as an update; do not uninstall the old app.
Close the old Windows app before running the updated installer.
Your original signing identity and saved pairing format are retained.

1. WINDOWS
Extract this entire ZIP, including its video folder. Double-click KosmoRemote.exe to open it.
Optional: double-click Install.cmd for desktop and Start-menu shortcuts.
Windows 10/11 x64. No separate .NET download is required.
This personal alpha is not signed by a commercial Windows publisher.

2. ANDROID
Download KosmoRemote-Android-0.2.1.apk on each phone and install it.
Android may ask to allow installation from the app opening the download.
Samsung Auto Blocker may need to be temporarily disabled in Settings >
Security and privacy > Auto Blocker for installation; restore it afterward.
Find Kosmo Remote in the app drawer, hold its icon and choose Add to Home.

VIDEO QUALITY
Smooth: up to a 1920-pixel long edge, 60 fps target.
Detail: native resolution up to a 3840-pixel long edge, 30 fps target.
Cellular: up to a 1280-pixel long edge, 30 fps target; start here at markets.
These are targets. The device and connection determine actual performance.
Video adapts downward on congestion. Controls use a separate connection.

3. FIRST CONNECTION
Put phone and laptop on the same Wi-Fi.
Keep Proton VPN and enable LAN connections if needed:
Windows Proton: Settings > Connection > Advanced settings > Allow LAN connections.
Android Proton: Settings > Connection > Advanced settings > LAN connections.
Reconnect Proton if it asks. Allow Windows Firewall private-network access.

4. PAIR
In Windows, click Pair a phone and choose the Wi-Fi adapter's address.
In the Android app tap Scan pairing QR, allow Camera, and scan the QR.
Or use Copy pairing link and the phone's Paste pairing link button.
Confirm Pair on the phone. Each QR works once and expires in five minutes.
If it times out, check Wi-Fi, Proton LAN access and Windows Firewall.
Both apps have Setup & button guide; it opens on first use and is replayable.

5. PHONE CONTROLS LAPTOP
In Windows enable Allow my phone to view and control this laptop.
In Android choose View laptop or Control laptop.

6. LAPTOP CONTROLS PHONE
In Android connect, choose Start phone sharing, and approve Android's prompt.
Enable Allow laptop to control this phone if you want control.
Follow the Accessibility instructions, then return and enable the switch.
In Windows select that phone and choose View phone or Control phone.
Keep the phone unlocked. Start sharing again if Android ends the session.

7. STOP
   Android: Stop sharing & disconnect.
Windows: Disconnect all; use Forget device to revoke a phone's saved access.

LATER: INTERNET CONNECTION WITH YOUR PAID PROTON SUBSCRIPTION
Test local Wi-Fi first. Proton port forwarding on a Windows P2P server can
provide an incoming connection. In Kosmo Remote's Connection settings,
enter Proton's active port and VPN exit IP, save, and pair again using that
address. Proton can change the port/IP after reconnecting. See README.md.

STATUS
Both apps compiled; the Android APK signature verified; 47 protocol/video,
   8 QR/error checks and 100 host layout/contrast checks passed.
Native Windows scaling, Samsung camera/permissions and your connection
still need device testing. Real-device fps/latency, screen capture, control, installation, QR
handoff, and Proton connectivity still need testing. This is an alpha for
installation and feedback, not a verified production release.

The laptop must stay awake, unlocked, and running Kosmo Remote. The app
does not change your VPN, firewall, router, or sleep settings automatically.
